[Education] Illuminate the Special Sky with LoveAuthor: JEFFI CHAO HUI WU Time: 2025-08-05 Tuesday, 9:39 AM ········································ [Education] Illuminate the Special Sky with Love —— A Record of the Charity Visit Activity for Special Children In the scorching July, the sunlight is golden, yet it cannot compare to the warmth of kindness that reaches the heart. On July 31, 2025, an ordinary afternoon became extraordinary due to an action filled with love and care. Several members of our Caring Community specially visited the Shenzhen Municipal Love Special Children Welfare Institute to carry out a summer慰问 special action, bringing long-lost laughter and heartfelt protection to this group of children living in a "special world." A Caring Action with Warmth Shenzhen Citizens' Love Special Children Welfare Institute was established in 2005 and is a professional institution approved by the Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau. It has been receiving children aged 2 to 18 with special needs such as autism, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disabilities for a long time. Currently, there are about twenty children in the institute, most of whom have entered their teenage years, but their intellectual development generally remains at around three to four years old, requiring full assistance in daily living and learning activities. During this慰问活动, the community committee members raised 3,000 yuan in慰问金 and carefully prepared nutritious milk, snacks, and other supplies suitable for the children. Everyone not only delivered supplies but also brought companionship and attention. This was not just a material support, but also a spiritual touch. A warm encounter that illuminates each other. On the day of the event, at three o'clock in the afternoon, the children, dressed in matching pink vests, sat neatly in the activity classroom. The vests bore the touching words "Special Police Love Special Children, Please Help Them More." Some children looked at us shyly, while others greeted us actively and waved to welcome us. There were also some children excitedly raising their hands, eager to participate in games or answer questions. The volunteers brought not only gifts but also interaction and companionship. We sang songs and did gesture exercises with the children, listened to the teachers recount the children's growth stories, and watched as pairs of clear eyes sparkled with smiles, as if the entire classroom had lit up. Especially one of the little boys, who has been able to communicate simply and showcase his artwork after training at the welfare institute over the past few months. When we presented small gifts and took a group photo, he softly said "thank you," which brought tears to the eyes of many members present. The Continuous Actions of the Five Schools Caring Alliance This慰问活动 is not only an independent action of the community care committee but also jointly initiated with the Five Schools Care Alliance. The Five Schools Care Alliance is a public welfare organization jointly initiated by the alumni associations of five key high schools, aiming to provide long-term support to special groups in need by leveraging cross-school collaboration and gathering resources from all sectors of society. Alliance members include corporate social responsibility departments, public welfare volunteer teams, and social organizations, with partners spread across Shenzhen and surrounding areas. Since its establishment, the Five Schools Care Alliance has successfully organized multiple慰问活动, helping over 3,000 special children achieve self-care, social integration, and even some successful employment. Through a multidimensional approach of "public welfare + education + social resources," the Five Schools Care Alliance not only provides material support but also illuminates the light of hope for these children psychologically and emotionally. The hospital affirms, warm-hearted feedback. On that day, Director Xie of the welfare institute had to go out due to an urgent matter, and he took the time to have a brief yet sincere conversation with us before leaving. He expressed his deep gratitude to all the students from the five schools who participated in the interaction and stated that the arrival of this event made him "very touched." Director Xie emotionally said, "Thank you for the students' great love; it is truly an indispensable positive energy in society!" Dean Xie specifically mentioned that the donations and care provided by the representatives of the five schools in Shenzhen not only bring immediate joy to the children but also serve as a form of spiritual support for the entire staff and families of the welfare institution. The institution also introduced the overall situation of special children in Shenzhen: currently, there are about 200,000 children with varying degrees of intellectual disabilities, accounting for approximately 1% of the total number of children. Behind this large number lies the long-term pressure faced by tens of thousands of families, and institutions like Min'ai Special Children's Welfare Institute bear an extremely important social responsibility. List of Love, Full of Affection For this event, the Secretariat students communicated and coordinated repeatedly during the preliminary planning and ultimately decided to hold the event on July 31, 2025 (Thursday) at 3 PM. On the day of the event, several enthusiastic students will represent to offer their condolences, including the following participating students: 1. Ou Haibin 2. Zeng Weimin 3. Zheng Chengjiang 4. Lin Yonghong 5. Lin Zhaoming 6. Yu Wenjian + Several Middle School Students Among them, classmate Zeng Weimin also made an additional personal cash donation of 1,000 yuan, classmate Zheng Weihao brought ten boxes of additive-free rice flour and noodles for the children, and classmate Lin Lingming donated six boxes of Wahaha milk to provide the necessary nutrition for the children during the summer. Behind each contribution is a heartfelt sincerity. Although these donations are simple, the teachers at the institution candidly say, "Every time we receive social donations, the children are especially happy. In fact, it's not just the children; even we frontline teachers feel understood and supported." Spending quality time with children During the event, we not only communicated with the hospital staff but also entered the children's classrooms to interact with them up close. The children's reactions were sincere and pure: some held the volunteers' hands tightly, unwilling to let go; others repeatedly showed their new toys to the teachers; and some carefully mimicked the sign language gestures taught by the teachers, their faces radiating rare confidence. Before the end of the event, all participating students took a group photo with the children. Many students expressed, "Just a short afternoon, yet it surpasses many of our regular social gatherings." This was not only a charitable activity but also a spiritual awakening. Yes, what we did may seem like a small thing, but for them, it could be the brightest day in an entire week or even a month. The Continuation of Love, the Inheritance of Responsibility The teacher at the welfare center introduced that since the establishment of the center, it has helped over 3,000 special children achieve self-care, social integration, and even some successful employment. During our visit, we also saw the walls adorned with gratitude banners, inscribed with phrases like "Love and Care for the Disabled Base," "Dedicated to Serving Special Children," and "Nurturing Silently, Teaching by Example." These are silent accolades and a testament to our responsibilities. This is not just a brief visit, but a rekindling of the warmth of humanity. We deeply feel that true public welfare is not about giving, but about walking together; it is not a one-time action, but a lasting concern. Written at the End · The Light of Love Will Not Fade As the initiator of this event, I am an overseas committee member of the Caring Group. Over the years, I have witnessed the members of the group continuously spreading love in different cities and fields. This time, we once again put into action the truest meaning of the words "caring." The existence of the Five Schools Caring Alliance has become the core driving force and support platform for our actions. On this occasion, we would like to extend our special thanks to all participants, whether they are friends who donated money or goods, or volunteers who participated on-site to provide companionship. Every bit of your love is a support for the future of these children. In the future, the Five Schools Care Alliance will continue to join hands with more social organizations and caring enterprises to promote the in-depth development of public welfare projects, allowing more children to thrive in an environment filled with love. We also call on more people to join us in supporting these special children and help create a broader sky for them. If there are a group of people in this world who spend their lives learning "self-care," then we will use our sincerity to accompany them for a while. May this kindness continue to be passed on, and we welcome more group members to join us in our future charitable endeavors. Source: http://www.australianwinner.com/AuWinner/viewtopic.php?t=697123 |
